In my twenties, my sense of fun inspired me to take part in a popular primetime TV show stunt challenge, which allowed me to spend a week learning circus skills, particularly the Cloud Swing. Although a career as a trapeze artist was never part of my plan, it has often occurred to me since then that organising and overseeing an event is rather like being a professional plate-spinner. From concept to completion, event management is a juggling act and my job is to keep all the many elements or ‘balls’ in perfect balance.
